The Central Goldfields Art Gallery’s Community Art and Craft exhibition will return in 2018 with a new and improved format.
Gallery staff have taken on board community feedback to implement a series of changes to better accommodate the artistic talents of the local community.
The annual exhibition, to go on show from 3 November to 2 December, is an opportunity for local community members from the municipality and surrounds to exhibit their creations at the Central Goldfields Art Gallery.
After the conclusion of last year’s exhibition, community members provided feedback that artwork of any size and medium should be exhibited.
This year there won’t be any prizes for artwork but instead visitors to the Gallery will have the chance to purchase affordable artwork as Christmas gifts.
Central Goldfields Shire Chief Administrator Noel Harvey said the Community Art and Craft exhibition is the perfect opportunity for talented community members to showcase their work.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for experienced local artists and those just new to their craft to display their work in a professional art setting.”
Contributions from all ages are encouraged and any type of art and craft is welcome to be entered, while final selection is at the discretion of the Gallery.
Art and craft work may be woodwork, spinning and weaving, knitting, photography, painting, drawing, quilts or any other form of artistic medium.
To enter in the Community Art and Craft exhibition contact the Art Gallery between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday on 5460 4588, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.visitmaryborough.com.au to obtain a submission form.
Submissions close on Sunday 28 October.
