The Central Goldfields Shire Priority Projects document was endorsed at an Ordinary Meeting of Council on Tuesday 26 June.
The projects identified are in line with a number of strategies in the current Council Plan 2017-2020 and will be used to lobby both State and Federal Governments for funding.

Council has committed funds in the 2018/19 Budget, adopted by Council last night, to undertake designs for the Carisbrook Reserve upgrade and the Deledio Reserve multi-use facility ($200,000), a contribution of $50,000 toward the all access changing rooms at the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre and has applied for a $2:$1 grant (total project cost $150,000). Council’s contribution to all projects will also include project management.
Central Goldfields Shire Chief Administrator Noel Harvey said this was an integral piece of work for Council moving forward.
“There are a number of challenges facing our community that we need to address and these priority projects will help us achieve many of them.
“We continue to advocate to State and Federal government for funding that will benefit our community. We’ve committed funds for each of these projects and completed initial works all we need now is the gap funding that will make these projects a reality.”
