Volunteer drivers deliver hot, nutritionally balanced meals to the door five days per week. Additional meals are delivered on Fridays to cover weekend requirements.
Provides assistance with a variety of household tasks to eligible residents so they can maintain independence at home and in the community.
Provides assistance with personal care tasks for customers who, due to illness, disability or frailty, are unable to perform unaided.
Respite services support the carers of the frail aged and people with a disability by providing a break from their caring responsibilities.
Provides minor repair and maintenance works around the home. It should be noted, the service does not undertake tasks requiring the skills of qualified tradespeople. A nominal service fee is charged for these services in accordance with the HACC Fees Policy. Any additional material costs are the responsibility of the resident.
Social Support services provide support for frail older people and people with disabilities to access a wide range of community and social activities.
Social Support services aim to prevent social isolation and to maintain consumer independence through supporting or (re)creating social networks, and through the provision of activities which enhance the physical, intellectual and social well being of consumers and carers.
Services offered: Mobile library, for housebound residents, Community outings, Singing groups, Telecontact , volunteers contact residents regularly by phone, Movie outings, Community visitors scheme, volunteers visits clients in nursing home within the Shire, Friendly visiting, volunteers visit residents in their homes.
Senior citizens centres meet regularly at various centres for social activities, which may include fitness programs, snooker, carpet bowls, and cards, walking groups, barbeques outings and dances. Club membership is open to any residents aged 55 years and over.
