Join the Colour Run to celebrate YouthFest
Published on 25 October 2024
Get bright, get colourful and get messy this weekend at the Central Goldfields Shire Youth Fest 2024 Colour Run.
The event will be held this Saturday, 26 October from 11am at the Maryborough Skate and Scooter Park with a colour run for children aged 12 and under (parents and guardians welcome to join in!), and a second run at 12.30pm for young people aged 12 – 25.
Other activities on the day will include a live DJ, photobooth, games, BBQ and more!
Entry to the event is free but registrations are encouraged by visiting: https://www.trybooking.com/CWHPP.
On the day, runners should wear old white or light-coloured clothes and shoes they don’t mind getting messy.
Central Goldfields Shire Youth Worker Gemma Simpson said the Youth Fest event was an opportunity for local young people to come together, celebrate the year and have some fun.
“Colour Runs have grown in popularity across the world in recent years. For those who haven’t participated in one before – it’s a unique event that sees participants wear white, run a set distance and be splashed with coloured powder by volunteers at various stages.
“Essentially, they finish their run plastered in colour having had lots of fun and made lots of wonderful memories. Colour runs are a fantastic way to foster community and create lasting connections.
“Youth Fest is a Victorian government initiative all about providing opportunities for our local young people to come together and have some fun at and so we thank the Victorian Government for the funding to make this possible.”
This year’s event is supported by Youth Live4Life, and the Victorian State Government through FReeZA, Engage, and Victorian Youth Fest funding.
