COLLEAGUE FAREWELLED

audrey.vic.roads.png

Today we farewell our valued team member and friend, Audrey Bartlett.

For the past 12 years, Audrey contributed to our community as a valued member of our Youth, L2P and VicRoads teams.

Through the TAC L2P Program, Audrey supported hundreds of local young people to get their driver’s license.

She created events and opportunities for our young people to have fun and stay connected through our FReeZA program.

And many community members will have experienced Audrey’s wonderful customer service skills at VicRoads.

Audrey will be dearly missed by us all – we thank her for her dedicated service to our organisation and her friendship.

Please note - our Customer Service Centre will be closed from 12 noon today, Friday 30 August, whilst our staff attend Audrey’s funeral.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this time.

We will re-open as normal at 9am on Monday 2 September.

Spring has almost sprung which means the latest edition of our Community Update magazine is hot off the press.

The online edition can be accessed at www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/communityupdate with copies to arrive in your letterbox from Monday.

Every day our community drive, walk, visit and use our local roads, footpaths, infrastructure reserves and open spaces.

In our latest edition we explore how we are working together to improve and maintain these facilities for our community.

Happy reading!

ENERGY BREAKTHROUGH

Join in the excitement of Energy Breakthrough and help promote the event’s ‘waste wise’ message by volunteering with our Waste Education team.

Helping to guide patrons sorting their waste, reducing landfill and recycling their utensils is a fantastic way to meet people and achieve positive results for the whole community. Plus there is a range of other roles to choose from to support the 5,000 students from 150 schools taking part.

Visit: www.eb.org.au/volunteer

Managing Risk

Our Draft Risk Management Policy aims to meet our community's vision of good planning, governance and service delivery.

It applies to all Council owned and/or operated equipment, land, property and facilities, all services provided to the community and internal functions and processes, therefore it is important we hear from the community to make sure we have got it right.

You can download the Draft Policy and give feedback until Monday, 9 September by visiting:

Your Local Law Review

We’re inviting you to review our Draft Local Law 2025-2035, then complete a quick survey to let us know your thoughts. The survey closes today at 3pm, Friday 30 August.

Learning Hub

To improve further education and training opportunities within our Shire, we’re proposing a Maryborough Learning Hub. The Hub would provide high speed internet access, equipment, learning areas, support staff for career and study guidance, and facilities such as kitchens, toilets and meeting areas.

To help us build the funding case, we’ve partnered with La Trobe University in Bendigo to capture a snapshot of your learning needs – whatever your age or employment, with a quick survey.
