HAVE YOUR SAY
Draft Budget and Draft Financial Sustainability Strategy
The 2024-25 Draft Budget and the Draft Financial Sustainability Strategy are now available for the community to review and provide feedback.
The Draft Budget is focused on implementing the key objectives of the 2021-2025 Council Plan as well as our commitment to deliver more than 36 services for the community.
The purpose of the Financial Sustainability Strategy is to make sure, despite the current economic challenges, our financial health remains strong into the future.
Feedback on both documents is invited until Friday 24 May 2024.
To view the documents, the video and to provide feedback visit: www.engage.cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/budget2024
Memorials
We are currently inviting feedback on our Memorials Policy.
We recognise that members of the community may wish to use a public space to commemorate a loved one through the planting of a memorial tree, erection of a monument, memorials and plaques or the naming of public spaces.
The Memorials Policy is important because it ensures requests are assessed in a consistent and accountable way.
You can read the Draft Policy and provide feedback until 2pm, Monday 27 May.

CALLING TALBOT
Your Town Hall needs you! An expression of interest is open to join the Talbot Town Hall Committee of Management.
The Talbot Town Hall is a much-loved community asset with heritage significance in the township.
It needs community leaders to join the Talbot Town Hall Committee of Management to assure the future sustainability of this heritage asset.
If you are passionate about Talbot, keen to see Talbot’s heritage preserved, and want to see Talbot thrive – we encourage you to submit an expression of interest before next Wednesday, 15 May.

WORLD HERITAGE BID
How will the Victorian Goldfields World Heritage Bid benefit our Shire? What will it mean for our businesses and events?
You’re invited to our community information session to learn more, when our Mayor Cr Lisbeth Long will introduce representatives from the Goldfields World Heritage Bid team.
Everyone is welcome to attend, with light refreshments provided and no bookings necessary.
- Tuesday 21 May, 5.15pm for 5.30 to 6.30pm
Rooms 1 and 2, Community Hub, 48 Burns Street, Maryborough
Supported by our staff from the Central Goldfields Visitor Centre
BUS LINES
Parking at the front of the Carisbrook Primary School in Camp Street has been updated.
For the safety of children and their families going to and from the school, parking has been moved from the bus stop turning area. New yellow line markings now clearly show the bus-only parking area.
We ask the community to take care around the area’s changed parking signage and bus movements.
STAND FOR COUNCIL
Local democracy depends on community members putting up their hand to run for office in Local Government. If you're thinking of nominating for this year's October elections, there are now resources available on our website:
