PRESERVING OUR COMMUNITY FACILITIES
We currently have three projects underway that will see key community assets preserved for generations to come:
- A tender to appoint a heritage architect to document the required conservation works and design the upgrades needed to bring the Princes Park Grandstand up to contemporary standards will be advertised shortly
- A contract will soon be awarded to fully document and assess the Carisbrook, Dunolly and Talbot community halls so they are construction ready
- Plus, a tender for the design and documentation that would see the renewal of the existing roof at the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre is also about to be awarded
This detailed design work is important so that we have what is required to apply for funding when suitable grants become available.

INDIGENOUS INTERPRETIVE GARDEN
Recently a breaking ground ceremony was held at the site of the new Indigenous Interpretive Garden in Maryborough.
The ceremony was led by DJAARA and its enterprise DJANDAK and marked the commencement of the project.
Jointly funded by the Victorian Government and Council, the Garden will sit alongside the Central Goldfields Art Gallery in the open space on the corner of Neill and Campbell Streets.
The Garden has been designed collaboratively with Djaara elders and artists through a Wartaka process.
