COUNCIL MEETING
The June Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday 25 June at 6pm.

The meeting will be held in-person at the Maryborough Community Hub and is open to the community to attend.
The meeting will also be livestreamed to our Facebook page and a video will be available at the above web address following the meeting.
HOLIDAY FUN
Our Library, Gallery, Youth and Visitor teams have pooled resources to build a calendar of activities and events for young people to warm the winter holidays in 2024.

CARISBROOK LEVEE DROP IN SESSION
The community is invited to come and meet with independent reviewer and engineer Fred Spain to learn more about the independent review and offer their ideas and suggestions.
The Drop In Session will be held at Carisbrook CFA in Green Street on Thursday 27 June from 12 noon to 6pm. No booking is required and refreshments will be provided.
The Carisbrook Levee Independent Review Reference Group is working closely with independent reviewer and engineer Fred Spain to conduct the review, with a report to be provided by the end of September 2024.

NAIDOC WEEK
Everyone is invited to help celebrate NAIDOC Week on Thursday 27 June from 10am to 2pm at the Maryborough Pony Club.
This year's theme is Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud.
There will be lots of free and fun activities including:
Cleansing, Welcome-and Smoking Ceremony - 10am.
Clinics run by Netball Victoria and AFL Victoria
BAARLINJAN Dance Group
Free activities, crafts, painting, BBQ, stalls, displays and giveaways.

COMMUNITY SATISFACTION SURVEY
The 2024 Community Satisfaction Survey results have been released.
The annual survey is coordinated by Local Government Victoria and is based on the responses received by phone interviews with 400 residents.
The survey is designed to assess the performance of Victorian councils across a range of measures and identify ways to provide improvement or more effective service delivery to residents.

CELEBRATING 150 YEARS OF RAIL HISTORY

NEW PLANNING APPLICATION
We know our community in Carisbrook and district will be aware of the proposed development of two new broiler farms near Carisbrook.
We have now received an application for a third broiler farm.
The applications are:
- D061-23 -705 Baringhup Road, Carisbrook
- D022-23 - 3280 Pyrenees Highway, Carisbrook
- D031-24 – 39 Clarkes Road, Moolort and 141 Clarkes Road Strathlea
The applications are at an early stage in the planning process and remain subject to a full assessment in accordance with the planning framework.
Council must and will consider submissions up until the time that the applications are decided at a future Council Meeting.
Members of the community with an interest in the applications can make a submission that supports, objects, or informs the planning application.
