ROADSIDE SLASHING
Our Operations team maintains enough roads to stretch from Maryborough, Victoria to Brisbane in Queensland. Our slashing program follows a systematic plan with support from contractors.
As wet weather passes, all crews ramp back up to full steam. Good progress has been made across Talbot, Lillicur, Bung Bong, Mount Glasgow, Dunach and Majorca. These are the green markings on the map (below).
The yellow markings are to be slashed three metres either side, while the blue markings indicate “fire break” slashing, from fence line to fence line, as recommended by the CFA and Forest Fire Management Victoria.
We’ll keep you up to date as works progress.
SENIORS BOOST
Our qualified Immunisation Nurses can assess your suitability for a wide range of vaccines we keep in stock.

- Shingrix (Shingles) – free over 65
- Pneumococcal (pneumococcal pneumonia) – free over 70 and additional doses for lung conditions
- Boostrix (whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus) - $40

FIND THE ELF
Following the successful refresh of our Council website earlier this year, we have many more visitors dropping in to find out information.
There's one visitor in particular who has decided to take up residence on our new website!
Cheeky Elf leaves little notes and hints about their next appearance each weekday on Facebook, and we need your help to find Elf and his location.
Whoever is best at tracking down the Elf will win a special Christmas prize of a $100 Shop Local voucher.
When you find cheeky Elf, use the "Was this page helpful?" buttons at the bottom of each web page to tell us where he is.
The winner (who finds Cheeky Elf the most) will be announced at noon on Christmas Eve, with the $100 prize voucher available for pickup straight away - just in time for last minute gifts.

BOOKING MARYBOROUGH TOWN HALL
The main and lower halls in the Maryborough Town Hall are open again for community use, following a significant electrical upgrade that ensures community safety.
Thanks to funding through the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program, the Town Hall has undergone essential upgrades to its electrical systems and emergency lighting.
A full audit of the building against the Building Code and Disability Discrimination Act was also carried out so we now have a full understanding of what is required to bring the building up to contemporary standards – including a short, medium and long-term strategy for its restoration.
Funding will be sought for short-term projects including roof replacement, reinstatement of the stage curtains and upgrades to lighting and heating.
Council Meetings will continue to be held in the upstairs Council Chamber once a month and are open for community to attend.
Community members wanting to book the Maryborough Town Hall are encouraged to contact Council’s Customer Service team on 5461 0610 or visit: www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/venuehire
