Visitor Centre

The Visitor Centre can be accessed directly from the Station platform, through the Station Café Restaurant Bar, or via the Station’s majestic front entrance.  Accessibility improvements mean that this experience is available to all.

Theatrette

Be immersed in a stunning digital animation presented in a theatrette and telling the story of the Welcome Stranger, the famous gold nugget found in Bulldog Gully near Dunolly in 1869. Find out more about how the discovery of gold shaped the region and gain new insights into how the gold rush impacted on the lives, culture and Country of the Traditional Owners of our area, the Dja Dja Wurrung people.

Worth its Weight in Gold

Have fun with the Worth its Weight in Gold installation, which invites you to place whatever you have in your pockets on the scales to find out their worth in today’s gold prices.
