Making an objection
If you consider that you will be affected by an application for a planning permit, you may wish to make an objection. In order for Council to accept an objection it will need to meet the following criteria:
How to object
You have 14 days from the start of the advertising period to lodge an objection to ensure it can be considered.
There are three ways you can object to a planning application:
Letters and forms can be emailed to Mail@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au emails should include the subject line 'Objection to Planning application (application number)'
Letters can be sent to: PO Box 194, Maryborough VIC 3465
Provision of objections
Applicants will be provided with a copy of any objection lodged against an application so they may respond to any issues raised. Full copies of objections will also be made available for inspections to any other interested party. Private information of an objector will not be published online.
Withdrawing an objection
In some cases the Planning Officer may hold a meditation session between objectors and the applicant to try to resolve the issues raised. This or other circumstances may result in someone wishing to withdraw their objection, in order to do this the objector must provide a written statement to that affect to the Planning Department- these can be emailed to Mail@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au or sent via mail to the PO Box listed above.
